The Duden Waterfalls of Antalya, Turkey are a series of cascades in the Duden River — which flows from the Taurus through a series of valleys and lush gardens before finally spilling dramatically into the Mediterranean Sea. Hailed as some of the most impressive and captivating waterfalls in the world, the falls and the gardens around them are a popular picnic spot for locals and tourists.
The Upper Duden Falls
The Upper Duden Falls are the first cascades in the series of waterfalls that eventually bring the Duden River to the Mediterranean. As the water cascades over the ledges and into the river valley, a grove blankets the area in lush green foliage and light mists. A truly dream-like valley, the area is a parkland, with trails and bridges hugging the falls to allow visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the park.
The Lower Duden Falls
As the Duden River exits the groves of the Upper Falls, it meanders closer to the urban city of Antalya before flowing over the high cliffs of the Mediterranean coast and into the sea. An impressive sight, the Lower Duden Falls are higher that the Upper Falls and the terrain is rockier and less green than their upper-counterparts, but are just as beautiful.
